OCEAN CITY, Md. — A North East firefighter was identified Wednesday as the man who was fatally struck on Coastal Highway in Ocean City.
Noah Day, 22, of Elkton, was struck by a car around 9:39 p.m. Monday in the area of 46th Street, town police said.
Investigators said Day was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. He died at the scene.
Cecil County Councilman Dan Schneckenburger posted on Facebook: “I offer my sincere condolences to the Day family and the North East Fire Co. at the sudden and tragic passing of Noah Day. Please keep the family and the volunteer fire company community in your prayers.”
The driver, a 44-year-old Berlin man, remained at the scene.
A cause of the crash remains under investigation.
