On Saturday, November 15, 2008. A Medstar Ambulance EMT was found dead in his bed at the Washington Park base in Illinois. This is the same ambulance service which had an EMT shot during EMS week this pass year. There has been no LODD put out because they are private ambulance service.
The scuttlebutt going around is that Medstar Ambulance is a private ambulance service and the brother EMT does not qualify for the state LODD benefits.
