A Lexington firefighter was taken to the hospital Monday after fighting a fire that destroyed a home and business.
The fire was reported about 3:40 a.m. at a Winchester Road house that also was the office of Classic Cut Landscape and Lawn Supply Inc.
When firefighters arrived, the brick structure was “fully involved,” Battalion Chief Marshall Griggs said. Flames and smoke were visible from every room of the upper story and from a door leading to the basement.
