APPARATUS CRASH IN JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI LEAVES ATLEAST ONE INJURED

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – An investigation is underway after a firetruck appeared to be involved in a crash at the intersection of West Northside Drive and Hanging Moss Road. The Jackson Fire Department confirmed in a statement that a firetruck was involved in the crash.

Crews with WLBT News arrived at the scene on Monday around 6 a.m.

The collision appeared to have occurred between a gray sedan and Firetruck Engine 7, with the front compartment of the sedan sustaining significant damage.

An ambulance and the Jackson Police Department also responded to the scene.

WLBT News spotted the driver of the sedan and a firefighter being loaded into an ambulance. However, the severity of the injuries sustained is unknown.

The Jackson Fire Department said in a statement that no information will be released as the agency is still gathering information.
