OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) – An Acadian Ambulance crew was transporting a patient to the hospital early Saturday morning, when suddenly, the ambulance became involved in an accident.
Ocean Springs police say the accident was at the intersection of Highway 90 and MLK Blvd. The collision did heavy damage to both the ambulance and a pickup truck. Police estimate the vehicles were going in excess of 50 miles per hour.
According to a news release, Acadian personnel jumped out of their ambulance, and rushed to the pickup driver to treat his injuries. The Acadian workers, their patient, and the pickup truck driver all went to the hospital for observation. Details of their injuries have not been released yet.
Ocean Springs police are investigating the overnight accident.
