TYPE 3 ENGINE BURNS ON THE INTERSTATE – NEVADA

On Wednesday, June 24, Florissant Fire Rescue’s wildland deployment Type 3 engine was involved in a serious fire incident on Interstate 80 near Wells, Nevada.
Most importantly, all firefighters are safe and uninjured.
Unfortunately, the apparatus is a complete loss and represents a significant setback to the department’s wildland deployment program.
We are currently working with our insurance provider to recover losses and restore the program’s Type 3 engine capability as quickly as possible.
We are extremely grateful that no personnel were injured and appreciate the support we have received.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
