FIRE INSTRUCTOR CRITICAL-TRAUMA, NFFF Important Update re Gov’t Shutdown (The Secret List)

All,

A support staff member suffered life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after a fall at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in Stow, Massachusetts.

It happened at 0930 hours at the burn building on the academy’s campus while members were preparing for recruit training. MFA personnel, many of whom are EMTs and Paramedics, immediately began providing medical aid and called 911.

When local fire rescue crews arrived, they found that the patient had fallen from three to four stories up with very substantial injuries. The Stow and Sudbury fire departments responded, treated and transported the member to an area hospital, where he is being treated for extreme life-threatening injuries.
The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services advised that the injured member was part of its Crib Support team, who are experienced Firefighters who manage the logistics, safety, and ignition of live burn training props at the academy. KTIYP’s.
