JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – All lanes of I-20 near the Ellis Avenue exit are back open after a crash earlier this morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., a Chevy Tahoe collided with an AMR ambulance and a dark sedan.
The incident caused major damage to the ambulance, according to DPS spokeswoman Bailey Martin.
The Tahoe hit the vehicles as Capitol Police and AMR were working a hit-and-run call on the median.
The Jackson Fire Department, Jackson Police Department, and AMR supervisor were all on the scene.
The left lanes in both directions were blocked while crews cleared the scene from the median.
This is an open and ongoing investigation.
