KS FIREFIGHTER STRUCK BY ANGRY CIVILIAN WHILE DIRECTLY TRAFFIC!

A Hays man was arrested on suspicion of battery and interfering with a firefighter in connection with an incident Monday evening.

Hays Police Lt. Don Scheibler said Glen A. Teel, 66 of Hays, was arrested after law enforcement officers responded to a call from a firefighter on 17th and Ash.

The firefighter was diverting traffic due to downed power lines caused by Monday night’s storm. Teel reportedly was upset due to the interruption in traffic flow, argued with the firefighter and then drove his vehicle into the firefighter.

The firefighter was not injured, according to Scheibler.

After being interviewed at the Hays Law Law Enforcement Center, Teel was issued two notices to appear and released on his own recognizance.
