A crash in Silver Spring Township this morning injured one man and trapped a responding ambulance crew.
According to police, around 12:30 this morning, Dusty LeBeau, 29, of Silver Spring Twp., drove his car off the road at Hogestown Road and Benzel Drive, hitting an electrical pole guide wire. The pole snapped and the power line hung over the road. When an ambulance arrived, it got caught in the power line. A small explosion, likely the transformer, sent sparks across the road.
The ambulance crew was trapped until power company employees removed the wire. Hogestown Road was closed until about 5 a.m.
LeBeau was flown to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and treated for minor injuries. No one has been charged in the crash.
