Two people hurling ice chunks off a bridge over Interstate Highway 235 shattered the windshield of an ambulance Friday that was hauling a patient to Iowa Methodist Hospital.
The ambulance driver told authorities he saw two unidentified people throwing ice over the East 12th Street bridge as he drove westbound on I-235 shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to police records.
One ice chunk smashed the ambulance’s windshield, authorities said.
The driver could not provide a description of either thrower. No further details were available.
