According to multiple sources,we regret to advise you
that a Firefighter with the Easton Volunteer Fire Company
(CT) was killed in the Line of Duty after a tree fall. Initial reports are
that the tree fell on or near the fire apparatus in Easton on Judd
Road. Area companies have sent mutual aid to assist Easton,
including a task force from the Hartford area that came to Southwestern
Connecticut to provide pre-support. Easton is located in Fairfield County.
We will post more as it become available.
Please use EXTREME caution when operating in this
storm…
As stated by the FDNY Queens Borough Commander to one of his
units, on the air, a few minutes ago:
“….the structures are NOT your concern…your
concern are the residents and your firefighters…..”
