The sight and smell of smoke at the Georgetown Manor Nursing Home sent firefighters rushing to the scene.
While PRP firefighters were on their way there, one was involved in an accident at Manslick Road and Gagel Avenue.
The volunteer firefighter was driving his personal pick-up truck when it collided with another SUV. He was on duty at the time.
The firefighter was taken to the hospital to be treated for some cuts on his face.
Firefighters say the fire at the nursing home was very small in the
ventilation system in the ceiling, and was quickly contained.
