If you respond to single-family dwelling fires, this program is a not-to-be-missed opportunity that costs you nothing but will provide priceless gains to every Firefighter, Fire Officer, and Chief. We promise.
Tomorrow (Thursday, August 3rd) is the 2023 Flynn/Laird Training Event co-sponsored by the Frederick and Howard County (Maryland) Fire Services.
***YOU CAN JOIN VIRTUALLY ***
Overview:
This Year’s Training will include an overview of the Flynn/Laird Act and the ATF Analysis of the Line of Duty Death of Lieutenant Nathan Flynn utilizing ATF’s Fire Dynamics Simulator, Fire Testing, and Electronic Data Sources.
This phenomenal presentation will share the video timeline and detail five (5) educational conclusions that resulted from this analysis, including fact-based common traits between the Woodscape Drive fire (Lt Nathan Flynn LODD, Howard County) and Ball Road fire (Battalion Chief Josh Laird LODD, Frederick County) three years later.
Both fires originated due to lightning-induced arc failure of Corrugated Stainless Tubing (CSST). Potential failure modes of CSST, forensic investigative techniques, and firefighting tactical considerations will be discussed. A live demonstration of arc-induced CSST hole formation is scheduled….and daily, more and more of these fires are occurring.
WEBLINK TO ATTEND VIRTUALLY:
We are urging every Firefighter & Fire Officer to participate in this training event online and at no cost. Below you will find a weblink to the training which will be live at 0830hrs on Thursday, August 3rd:
