Interestingly, the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating that house fire that killed four people, including the 2 Firefighters, in the northwestern part of Oklahoma. The agency launched the investigation because the fire on Friday involved a natural gas pipeline and the NTSB investigates pipeline incidents.
The fire was reported at 0307 and the 8 member Waynoka VFD arrived on the scene at 0316.
A request for mutual aid was dispatched at 0324, and the Alva FD responded. The Woodward Fire Department also sent units and personnel to the scene.
The fire was initially reported by a person trapped in a bedroom of the home, and 2 Firefighters heroically entered the home and found a man and woman in a bedroom. While attempting to perform rescues, there was a reported collapse killing the Firefighters-and the victims. Much more to follow.
