Flint (MI) FF Gerald Hunt is in critical condition at Hurley Medical Center after jumping from a second-floor window in the house on Broadway. Flint Firefighters were in the home after the call for help at 2320 hours Friday, indicated there was a high probability of entrapment. Firefighters later found the man living in the house was not inside.
FF Hunt is being treated for lung tissue damage, second-degree burns and fractured ribs but has been alert and conscious since being hospitalized. 7 other firefighters, two of whom responded from departments outside Flint, were also injured and treated as a result of fighting the fire and they were treated for heat exhaustion, burns, a back injury and electrocution. We wish FF Hunt a rapid recovery.
