As you know one Firefighter was killed and 6 others were injured in the Line Of Duty at an explosion this morning.
Killed in the explosion was Captain Michael Bell, 68. He was a 30-year member of the Farmington Fire Department and brother of the Fire Chief, who was injured.
The 6 injured members were identified as Fire Chief Terry Bell, 62, who is the brother of Michael Bell; Capt. Timothy D. Hardy, 40; Capt. Scott Baxter, 37, and his father, firefighter Theodore Baxter, 64; firefighter Joseph Hastings, 24, and Larry Lord, 60.
Deputy Fire Chief Clyde Ross was treated and released from Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Just after 0800 the Farmington Firefighters responded to 313 Farmington Falls Road, which is also Route 2, after people in the building reported smelling propane. Just after the Firefighters arrived, the building exploded.
The building houses a service that provides support for people with developmental, cognitive and intellectual disabilities.
Much more to follow.
