TWO FIREFIGHTERS INJURED IN HOUSE FIRE – TENNESSEE

SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WSMV) – It took more than ten agencies to handle a house fire in Spring Hill on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Spring Hill Fire Department, crews responded to an active house fire in the 2000 block of Iroquois Drive around 1:20 p.m. Neighbors had spotted the smoke and alerted the occupants, who managed to escape without injury, according to the report.

Heavy wind helped the flames spread up the rear of the house and into the attic and main rooms. Firefighters prevented the flames from jumping to adjacent homes or brush, but the house was left with “catastrophic damage,” according to Spring Hill Fire.

One firefighter injured his hand and received treatment at the scene, while another required transportation to the hospital for heat exhaustion.

Multiple agencies assisted Spring Hill Fire at the scene and with city duties, including the Spring Hill Police Department, the Williamson County Rescue Squad, Williamson County Fire-Rescue, Williamson Health EMS, the Maury County Fire Department, the City of Columbia Fire Department, and the American Red Cross.
