A firefighter and a fire captain with the Tempe (Ariz.) Fire Department suffered second-degree burns Saturday morning while providing mutual aid at a Phoenix apartment fire.
Both firefighters were transported to a hospital with shoulder, neck and hand burns. According to ABC15, both firefighters were in stable condition.
One person died in the fire and several were injured ranging in from 14 to 47 years old. Fire officials told the network that at least four people jumped from the second story.
The initial tone said there were several victims trapped. It wasn’t reported if firefighters made any rescues.
The fire, which officials said they believe started on the first floor, is under investigation.
