THREE OREGON FIREFIGHTERS INJURED AT FIRE

PENDLETON – Three firefighters were injured while fighting a fire on the 1700 block of Southwest Court Avenue in Pendleton on Wednesday.

Pendleton Fire and Ambulance Chief Tony Pierotti said one of the injuries was heat-related, and that firefighter was treated on the scene. Two firefighters were shocked from a down power line on a fence, they were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The fire was in a lot behind several businesses. Pierotti says multiple vehicles and a couple of structures were involved. Five different fire districts with 13 units responded to the fire.

Pierotti says the Oregon State Fire Marshal will have someone on the scene Thursday morning to investigate the fire.
