One firefighter was burned and several others evaluated by EMS when a Cresson Volunteer Fire Department brush truck was overtaken by flames while responding to a brush fire just north of Tolar.
The department posted a picture of the apparatus on its Facebook page.
Three trucks were responding to a wildfire reportedly started by welding when one of the trucks stalled.
With the fire approaching, the crew left the truck on foot and were picked up by a second truck.
The burned firefighter was flown to Parkland Medical Center, where he was treated and later released.
