MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Shots were fired toward a Memphis Fire Dept. station early Tuesday morning, Sept. 26.
According to Memphis Police, gunshots were fired in the direction of Fire Station No. 47 about 4 a.m.
The station is located at 3510 Coleman Road in the Raleigh area.
FOX13 News journalist Shelia O’Connor spoke to a neighbor across the street from the station, who said he and his wife dropped to floor when shots rang out.
He wanted to remain anonymous, but said the gunshots were multiple and had to have been from an automatic weapon.
“It sounded like they (bullets) were knocking on (his) window,” he said.
The man said he’s lived in the neighborhood for a long time and that he hears gunshots on the street regularly.
