All,
This is the radio traffic from yesterday’s Los Angeles County dwelling fire that resulted in the tragic Line of Duty of a Firefighter. Firefighter Jonathan Flagler, 47, was operating when conditions rapidly changed and he was overcome while inside, and subsequently died in the Line of Duty.

Firefighter Flagler was a 21-year veteran of the fire service, having served 19 years with the Vernon FD before that city transitioned to the Los Angeles County Fire Department in October 2020. He is survived by his wife and 2 teenage sons. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.

==WISCONSIN FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS IDENTIFIED

43-year-old Mineral Point Assistant Chief Brian Busch and 69-year-old Firefighter Jamie Ludlum were killed in the Line of Duty early Thursday morning when a semi trailer struck their fire truck on Highway 151 in Iowa County-west of Madison. They were attempting to get to an initial crash when they used the highway crossover and were struck. The crash closed the highway in both directions for almost 15 hours. Busch and Ludlum had a combined 60 years of service with the Mineral Point Fire Department. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.

==LOUISIANA FIREFIGHTER CHARGED IN VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER
Fire Protection District No. 5 Louisiana Firefighter Cody Kahl, 24, was arrested for the deadly crash, which happened June 13 on Pete’s Highway. FF Kahl was driving the fire apparatus behind a pickup truck towing a trailer and failed to slow down as traffic was coming to a stop.
The truck rear-ended the corner of the trailer and then crossed into the opposite lane, striking another vehicle head-on. The driver of the vehicle hit head-on, 83-year-old Gail Rippel, died in the hospital shortly after the crash.

An arrest warrant said bloodwork showed Kahl had marijuana in his system at the time of the wreck. Kahl was booked on charges of vehicular homicide and reckless operation.

Take Care. Be Careful. Pass It On.
