Below is the link to the Myrtle Beach Police radio traffic, where Police Officer Jacob Hancher was shot and killed in the Line of Duty, and another injured. Officer Hancher was killed Saturday after a shooting near Yaupon Drive in Myrtle Beach o Saturday evening. Following the exchange of gunfire, the suspect was found dead. Officer Hancher was also a volunteer Firefighter in Horry County, Carolina Bays Fire Station 45.
Officer Hancher was a Community Service Officer for four years and a Police Officer for less than one year. In his off time, as well as being a Firefighter, he was also active in his church and had done missionary work. Clearly a man who devoted his life to others.
