PGFD Shooter Gets 4 Years re: LODD (The Secret List)

All,

The Maryland man who shot and killed a Firefighter and critically injured another on Friday April 15 of last year has been sentenced to 4 years to be served in a penitentiary.

PGFD Firefighters had indications of a valid medical emergency when they forced their way into that home when the homeowner, Darrell Lumpkin, opened fire.

19 year old volunteer Firefighter Kevin Swain (Morningside Co 27) was critically injured, and has since recovered, but 37-year-old career Firefighter-Paramedic John “Skillet” Ulmschneider was killed in the Line of Duty.
Lumpkin, 62, was indicted in Prince George’s County last July 2016 on six counts related to illegal possession of firearms. Lumpkin was previously convicted of assault in D.C. in the 1980s and was therefore disqualified from owning weapons.
In addition to the .380 semi-automatic handgun Lumpkin used in the shooting, police also recovered two other handguns — one 40-caliber gun and a 25-caliber gun — from Lumpkin’s home.

The 4 years is part of a max of 15 years with all but 4 years suspended according to PGFD PIO Mark Brady. Rest In Peace.
