Loyalsock Township, Pa. — EMS personnel were assaulted by an employee at the Williamsport North Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Loyalsock.
Deborah Ann Brown, 36, of Williamsport pushed a paramedic’s arm aside and punched them in the stomach while they attempted to get a blood pressure reading, according to the complaint. Brown punched a second worker before saying, “I don’t want any help from you guys,” police said.
Brown unhooked EKG leads and belts from a gurney before walking away from paramedics, who called police after the assault, Trooper Ernest Capobainco of PSP Montoursville said. Brown refused medical treatment, according to the paramedics.
Police said Brown agreed to be transported to UPMC Williamsport after speaking with law enforcement. When informed she would taken into custody for the assault Brown refused treatment. Brown allegedly contacted EMS for abdominal pain.
Brown is being charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault and harassment. She posted $25,000 unsecured bail and was released from custody. A preliminary hearing with Judge William Solomon is scheduled for next week.
