PARAMEDIC IN HELICOPTER CRASH LAID TO REST

NIBLEY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- A very tearful and emotional service for a man who friends and family say had a comedic personality and was dedicated to his job

24-year-old paramedic Jake Shepherd was laid to rest Monday.

Shepherd, from Tooele, was one of four people in a medical plane that crashed in Elko, Nevada on November 18th.

Over one hundred people including law enforcement from several agencies attended the services. His father said Shepherd brought so much fun and laughter to his life and everyone who met him.

His friends shared stories of how he loved to play jokes and scare them every chance he got. His mother Minda said he was living his dream as a flight paramedic.

“I feel like it was such an honor just to be his mother because he was just, he had the sweetest heart and in school he would stand up for those being bullied because he didn’t like to see people treated badly and he would stand up for them and be the example.” She said.

Shepherd will be laid to rest and the Mendon City Cemetery.
