All,
We regret to pass on the Line of Duty Death of Paramedic Wesley England of Nelson County EMS in Bardstown (SE of Louisville), Kentucky.
Paramedic England was critically injured in a motor vehicle crash on Friday, May 23, following his shift. It is believed that the crash was caused by a cardiac event resulting from documented stressful/strenuous line-of-duty activity that occurred during his shift.
Paramedic England was airlifted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, for treatment. He remained there in a coma until his death June 2.
In addition to serving full-time with Nelson County EMS, he also served part-time with Washington County EMS, Cumberland County EMS, and as a part-time Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer with Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
He previously served with Louisville Airport Authority—Department of Public Safety, Fort Knox EMS, Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue, Western Kentucky University Police, and several other Kentucky first responder agencies.
Paramedic England was 41 years old and is survived by his 18-year-old daughter, 9-year-old son, his parents, and siblings.
