It was a narrow escape for two Omaha firefighters who fell through a floor while battling a blaze while two others had to be rescued from a second-floor window Sunday morning.
Firefighters called to the fire at Florence Boulevard and Ames Avenue just before 6:30 a.m. found the home fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters entered to see if anyone was still inside. Commanders eventually issued a “mayday” call and ordered everyone out of the residence. No one was seriously hurt.
No word at this time as to what started the fire, but OFD spokesman Jim Gentile said arson is suspected.
