A Dayton firefighter was hit by a truck around 6 p.m. Tuesday on Shroyer at Littell Ave.
The officer, who has not been identified, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and is undergoing tests, said District Chief Tim Rose.
According to Rose, the firefighter was hit by a pickup truck in front of the Circle K at 727 Shroyer.
Dayton’s Medic 15 and Engine 15 were about to leave the Circle K where they had responded to help a man who had fallen outside the store, said Rose. They loaded the man into the medical truck. The firefighter then stepped into the street to direct the fire truck out of the parking lot and was hit by a pickup truck heading southbound on Shroyer.
"The front of the truck has a pretty good dent in it, so they are taking all precautions," said Rose. The firefighter is doing well and is being treated for NLT injuries..
Rose said Dayton police are investigating.
