With IAFC Elections going on, there’s one particular Constitution and Bylaws Amendment we’re asking you to vote yes on.
It provides permanent seats on the IAFC Board of Directors to each of the Safety, Health & Survival; EMS and the Fire & Life Safety Sections. Having a permanent seat (they hold temporary seats currently) on the board will allow them to continue to focus on their missions and have a continued voice at the table on all issues affecting these specific areas of interest.
The IAFC Board of Directors unanimously supports this amendment, and formally took action on that during their meeting this past March. The board, representing all the divisions and the IAFC membership, recognizes the importance of the work the three sections have done for years, what they do, must continue to do and what they deliver to the IAFC members-and the fire service.
Ballot Information:
Article V. Section 2. Composition of the Board. Language changed to make the seats on the IAFC board of directors currently held by the EMS, Fire & Life Safety and Safety, Health & Survival Sections permanent seats and to allow any other section to request a board seat if that section’s membership is equivalent to or greater than 10% of the total IAFC membership.
Proposed by Chief Norris Croom, International Director, EMS Section, on behalf of the EMS, Fire & Life Safety and Safety, Health & Survival Sections.
Vote: YES
Thank you again for your consideration and for voting.
