SPECIAL NOTE: Brothers and Sisters: If you were not able to watch 60 Minutes last night, check these links — 60 MINUTES did a very comprehensive story with interviews from many of the FDNY Chiefs who survived, about many who did not:
A Line of Duty Death rescue helicopter crash left a pilot dead in France. The crash occurred Sunday afternoon in the ski area of Villard-de-Lans, in Isère. The helicopter, which was responding to an incident, crashed with five people on board. One member died, four other people were injured, one seriously.
Witnesses interviewed say they saw the helicopter make several spotting laps around the ski area before falling suddenly when it came to rescue a mountain biker. A few minutes later, a thick plume of smoke appeared. “Two very strong explosions” followed. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
