Syracuse, N.Y. — At least two firefighters were treated for injuries Wednesday after a fire broke out in a North Side home, fire department officials said.
Firefighters arrived at about 4:28 p.m. to the house at 1106 Park St. when multiple 911 callers reported seeing smoke coming from the building, according to Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.
Fire crews entered the building but had to quickly pull out as the fire worsened, Deputy Chief Nicholas Pagano said.
The people who live in the house had evacuated when crews arrived, Pagano said. None of them were injured, he said.
The fire was contained to the building, Pagano said.
Pagano said there could be structural issues to the home, which will be evaluated by code enforcement officials.
The firefighter who jumped out of the window was treated for minor burns, Pagano said. Another was taken to a hospital to be evaluated, he said.
