WASHINGTON (ABC7) — An ambulance, an SUV and a few other vehicles collided at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Arcola Avenue in Wheaton Thursday afternoon.
Crews on scene were evaluating “several trauma patients” shortly after it happened around 3:45 p.m.., according to Montgomery County Fire & EMS spokesman Pete Piringer.
Two out of three people on the ambulance, which was on its way to a call in Kensington, were taken to the hospital as a precaution. An 8 or 9-year-old victim from one of the other involved vehicles was also taken to the hospital. None of the injuries were serious.
Some lanes were blocked as a result of the crash and have since reopened.
