RCMP say that tires on a pickup truck came loose and caused an ambulance to crash on the highway yesterday afternoon near Carman. Although the ambulance was transporting patients at the time of the crash, there were no injuries caused as a result of the collision.
At 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 28, RCMP officers as well as members of the Carman and Roland Fire Departments were called to a collision on Highway 3, about four miles north of Highway 23.
It is believed that two tires from a northbound pickup truck became loose and came off of the truck. The tires then crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a southbound ambulance. A third vehicle that was following the northbound pickup truck was also damaged.
Because of the collision traffic was confined to one lane of travel during the investigation and clean up.
