We regret to pass on that Edwardsville (KS) FD Paramedic.Jason Taylor has died from Covid19. Taylor, 51, lost his battle with the virus on Saturday, after contracting it just days before Christmas. “It was a complete shock because at 51 years old – you know, relatively still young and healthy, not a tobacco user not a smoker, no railing underlying issues, it was just a complete shock to everybody here,” the Fire Chief, Tim Whithim stated. Taylor had been with the department part-time since 2018. He worked in Bonner Springs prior to joining the Edwardsville Fire Department. Taylor had more than 15 years of experience as a Paramedic.
=PENNSYLVANIA FIRE MARSHAL DIES FROM COVID.
The Fire Marshal of Lewistown (PA) has died from Covid. Mike Force, a member of the LFD since 1974 and Fire Marshal since 1991-serving a total of 46.5 years.
=NORTH CAROLINA FIREFIGHTER DIES FROM COVID
E. M. Holt FD Firefighter Tim Morton and his son, (also a Firefighter) Dustin Morton, tested positive for COVID-19 in September. He noted they both had mild symptoms during that time. But Tim Morton then went into the hospital with COVID-pneumonia, followed by post-COVID lung fibrosis. Hospital workers tried to rehabilitate his lungs, but there was too much scarring and they were working to get him on a transplant list. Dustin Morton said his father went back into the hospital on Dec. 3 and didn’t return home. He died Saturday evening. He was also a past Sheriff’s Deputy and former member of Gibsonville FD.
=MARYLAND FIREFIGHTER DIES FROM COVID

Naval District of Washington Fire Emergency Services, Naval Support Facility Indian Head, Charles County Station 20/21 Firefighter EMT Bryan “Hammy” P. Hamilton has died in the Line of Duty from COVID. He passed away on January 1, 2021 at University of Maryland, Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata from complications of COVID-19 he acquired while performing his job duties.

Firefighter/EMT Hamilton was 42 years old and was a member of NDW Fire & Emeregncy Services for 18 years. He was also an Active Life Member, Fire Captain and Engineer of the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department, in Charles County, which he joined in 1995.

=CONNECTICUT DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF DIES FROM COVID
Patrick Dragon, a Deputy Fire Chief and retired Connecticut State Police Trooper who was among the first on the scene at the Sandy Hook shooting, died Saturday night after what those who knew him described as a “valiant battle” with COVID-19.

Chief Dragon served at Troop D in Danielson before retiring on Feb. 1, 2018. Over the years, he served in many roles, including as a first responder to the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012. Chief Dragon died at Hartford Hospital. Dragon was most recently the Deputy Chief of the East Brooklyn Fire Department, serving for 34 years as a volunteer.
