Naval District of Washington Fire Emergency Services, Naval Support Facility Indian Head, Charles County Station 20/21 Firefighter EMT Bryan “Hammy” P. Hamilton has died in the Line of Duty from COVID. He passed away on January 1, 2021 at University of Maryland, Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata from complications of COVID-19 he acquired while performing his job duties.
Firefighter/EMT Hamilton was 42 years old and was a member of NDW Fire & Emeregncy Services for 18 years. He was also an Active Life Member, Fire Captain and Engineer of the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department, in Charles County, which he joined in 1995.
Chief Dragon served at Troop D in Danielson before retiring on Feb. 1, 2018. Over the years, he served in many roles, including as a first responder to the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012. Chief Dragon died at Hartford Hospital. Dragon was most recently the Deputy Chief of the East Brooklyn Fire Department, serving for 34 years as a volunteer.
