We regret to pass on that an Easton Township (Kansas) volunteer Firefighter was killed in the Line of Duty Sunday. The Firefighter died in a crash while responding to structure fire in Leavenworth County. Kickapoo Township, Alexandria Township, Fort Leavenworth Fire Department and the Leavenworth City Fire Department also responded to the structure fire. Easton is about 15 miles to the west of Leavenworth.
He leaves behind his young wife and two young boys. Much more to follow on this. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
NOTE: This is the second time in less than two weeks that residents in Leavenworth County are mourning the loss of a public servant. On Friday, October 30, Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Detective Corporal Daniel Abramovitz died in the Line of Duty in a crash with a school bus. He was a 26-year veteran of the department who planned to retire next March.
