Yesterday the Manhasset-Lakeville FD in New York was alerted to respond to an automatic fire alarm….just like each of us does daily. Below is a photo of what the first arriving chief found upon his arrival.
It’s a reminder to every one of us that while many AA’s are false or good intent, or systems need proper maintenance, we still have to react, turn out and respond as if it is a fire-until we-the fire department-determines that it’s not. There was no injuries-the family was away.

PTSD FIREFIGHTER DEATH IN WISCONSIN
The Cottage Grove Fire Department has passed on that Firefighter Nate Walker tragically passed away Sunday morning after a long battle with PTSD. Walker was a dedicated husband, Father, Firefighter, and veteran who always put his community and family first. Funeral arrangements and additional support for Walker’s wife, Katie, and two young children will be shared once details are available. (See List of Related Behavioral Health Resources Below)
