According to police, Owen was found on the side of the road near a car that just flipped over.
She had suffered a few minor injuries to her face and neck.
Police say the paramedic was trying to help Owen when Owen punched her in the face.
The probable cause affidavit states Owen was “very hostile and aggressive towards police and medical personnel” and she was “heavily intoxicated.”
“Folks who are intoxicated on one substance or another, they misperceive what is going on. They are not able to make good decisions,”Norman Police Capt. Tom Easley said.
An official with Norman Regional said the paramedic is OK and is now back on the job.
As for Owen, police say she also had an arrest warrant for a previous DUI.
The car accident is still under investigation.
