We’ve been asked to share this with those who are planning on attending the LODD funeral ceremony for Spring Valley Firefighter Lt. Jared Lloyd on Saturday, April 3, 2021
=Funeral ceremony at Palisades Credit Union Park @ 1 Provident Bank Park Drive Pomona, NY 10970 (next to RC FTC) Service begins at 11:00am
=Please muster at the Rockland County Health Complex- Building ‘L’ (Social Services) @ 50 Sanatorium Road, Pomona, NY 10970. Each building has visible signs on the Sanatorium Road. If the parking area at Building ‘L’ fills up, please use the parking area across the street or adjoining parking lots nearby.
=Shuttle buses/vans will be running and making stops at all muster locations.
=If any charter or school buses are bringing firefighters, they are to drive directly to the ballpark and unload passengers. They will be guided once they arrive at the ballpark.
=Charter/school buses will then go to the Minisceongo Golf Course parking lot located at 110 Pomona Road, Pomona, NY 10970. They will remain there until the ceremony is complete. Please make sure that someone remains in contact with your bus driver.
=Firefighters only. Spouses, partners, friends, children or outside guests are not permitted.
=The ceremony will be closed to the public at the request of the family and, at this point, will not be livestreamed, Rockland County spokesman John Lyon said late today. Earlier today, County Executive Ed Day had said the event would be livestreamed.
=Please make every effort to limit vehicles to Chief cars and vans etc. They are trying to limit all large pieces of fire apparatus. If an FD brings a fire truck, it will not be turned away.
=Personal vehicles are highly discouraged. Parking in and around the ballpark is very limited.
=Ceremony begins at 11:00am so try and be at your location by 10:00am the latest. No restrictions on how early you can be there. Earlier the better.
=Please bring food/drink garbage bags for your firefighters so they can be taken care of prior to the ceremony at your muster area.
=There will be food and drink after the ceremony at the ballpark.
=Under no circumstances shall anyone bring alcohol into the ballpark property.
=With seating on the ballfield and in the stadium, we should be able to hold around 5000-6000.
=There will be standing room and speakers located outside the stadium in the event it fills up.
=Please respect the residents who may live in and around your muster areas.
=Everything will end at 5:00pm so everyone will need to be prepared to leave the ballpark property by then.
=When returning home DO NOT use Route 306 heading south towards New Jersey.
=Masks will be required inside the stadium and on ballpark property. Every effort must be made to wear them and this needs to be encouraged by your department officers.
Saturday’s funeral will be followed by a procession that will go down Route 45 to Route 59, up West Street to Lloyd’s Columbian Firehouse for a ceremonial “last call,” west on Maple to Route 306, then north on Route 306 to Brick Church Cemetery. The route is expected to be lined with well-wishers eager to pay their respects to a volunteer Firefighter who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
