It is with deep regret that we pass on the Line of Duty Death of Firefighter/EMT Robert Cree of the Harrison Township VFD in Lucerne, Indiana (north of Logansport).
Firefighter/EMT Cree and crew responded to a medical emergency Sunday evening just after 1900 hours. At approximately 2010 hours., moments after returning home from the run, Firefighter/EMT Cree collapsed from an apparent heart attack. The same crews he had responded with a short time earlier responded to his home and rendered aid. In spite of their efforts, he could not be resuscitated.
Firefighter/EMT Cree was 72 years old and served his community as a Firefighter for 43 years and as a minister for 50. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; adult children, Carla and Robert; and five grandchildren. His son, Robert, is a career firefighter/paramedic with Valparaiso (Indiana) Fire Department. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
