According to the USFA, in 2019, 62 Firefighters died in the Line of Duty, 22 less than the 2018 total of 84 Firefighters. The fatalities included 25 career firefighters, 34 volunteer Firefighters, and 3 wildland agencies w/the total consisting of one female and 61 males. There were no multiple firefighter fatality incidents in 2019.
Because of different tabulation criteria, the NFPA reported a few months ago, that in 2019, 48 Firefighters died in the Line of Duty.

***Why do the agencies have different criteria? Because they do. We took that issue on a few years ago and would have better luck in naturally turning my mustache back to black than changing the systems. 😉
Regardless of the reporting, numbers are definitely lower-which of course is a good thing.
Take Care. Be Careful. Pass it On.
