The term “bullying” has become pretty predominant in 2018, and it creates a lot of discussion -and confusion.
Certainly some bullying should be obvious and minimally seen as hurtful – and perhaps even illegal. But then there is also confusion as to what is bullying vs playful behavior or a funny or perceived gag or joke.
Quite frankly, what was considered a joke when I was a young firefighter in the ’70s may very well be perceived as bullying today. It’s a bit confusing – except for the person on the receiving end.
We have put together a webinar for next Tuesday on the specific subject of bullying and getting along – or not getting along – in the fire station, and wanna pass the information along to you.
Gordon Graham’s crew at Lexipol is hosting a one-hour webinar next Tuesday at 1300 hours Eastern, that firefighters of all ranks, from probie to chief, will find of interest.
