Dear FFCC.com:
I was the Incident Commander and these two firefighters did an outstanding job in not only rescuing the victim, but keeping their composure when all went bad. They we able to rescue the victim and themselves just prior to the 1st floor lighting off. The victim was transported by helicopter to Philadelphia, PA, whereas of today, he is alive and in critical condition with severe smoke inhalation and burns of the trachea. He is expected to survive. Our two Captains were treated by EMS and returned to the job after taking a break. One Captain stated he “thought he was going to die and decided that was a bad idea”!!. He was able to retrieve his SCBA mask, which gave him enough air to get the crew and victim out alive.
