FOUR N.H. FIREFIGHTERS BURNED, CUT IN SMOKE, FIRE EXPLOSION

By Tim Callery, WMUR:

Four firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling a two-alarm blaze in Manchester on Sunday, officials said.

Crews were called to the fire at a single-family home on Seventh Avenue about 1 p.m. Nobody was there at the time, but crews still went in to search the home.

A flashover occurred while they were inside, forcing the department to send out a mayday.

The four injured firefighters were treated for burns and lacerations. Three of them were taken to the hospital, but all are expected to be OK.
