At least four New York firefighters were injured during a blaze that gutted several businesses early Friday.
The fire broke out just before 1 a.m. at a building in Freeport on Long Island, and it was followed by an explosion, WABC-TV reports. Flames ripped though a deli and a florist on the building’s first floor and damaged officers on the second floor.
Four firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the blaze, with one firefighter being taken to the hospital. According to WNBC-TV, as many as five firefighters were injured during the call.
No civilians were hurt in the incident, and the fire is under investigation.
