By Joshua Yeager, Visalia Times-Delta:
Four firefighters were rushed to the hospital Wednesday morning after a Cal Fire engine rolled over, just south of Porterville.
At least one firefight suffered major injuries, California Highway Patrol officers said.
The engine was headed west on Avenue 56 through Ducor when it veered to the left for “an unknown reason,” said officer Marc McWilliams.
The driver over-corrected, causing the 16-ton engine to leave the road and strike a dirt embankment, where it flipped and landed on its roof.
All four occupants were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, according to CHP. The passengers are being treated for minor injuries while the driver suffered “likely major injuries.”
