We regret to pass on that Lake City (Florida) Fire Chief Randy Burnman died Sunday after contracting COVID-19. He battled the virus for three to four weeks and had been on a ventilator.
August was a rough month for the 21-member fire station with, at one time, 75% of its employees either positive with the virus or in quarantine. Additionally, one of their Lieutenants is currently in the hospital on a ventilator.
TEXAS: We regret to pass on that Firefighter James Heater with Emergency Services District #1 in Orange County, Texas has died. He’d served with the department for about two years. Heater died Friday night of COVID-19 related health problems. He was only 32 years old and had no underlying health problems. Heater leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends.
Heater’s wife, Natasha posted the following:
“He was the love of my life, my best friend, my rock. He was the best father and husband. He had so many friends he considered family, especially the fire department. They have helped us in so many ways and I know he would be grateful for everything they are doing to make sure his girls are OK. I want to thank everyone for their support and prayers as we go through this difficult time. The only thing I ask is to please go get vaccinated. This virus is hitting way too close to home. I don’t want this happening to anyone else as it has done to our family.”
