It’s 2023 and unfortunately, one of the issues facing our profession is BULLYING.
Bullying. And yep-what is bullying to one person may not be to another. What is “I was just kidding” to one is offensive to another. What was “fun” years ago is now interpreted differently.
Is bullying legit?
What’s the difference between fun and cruelty?
How can we build a fire crew/team when everyone is worried about upsetting someone?
Can’t we just have fun anymore?
THE FACT IS that in 2023, it is an issue and every fire chief certainly wants to-and must protect their members be it on the fireground or in quarters.
There is a GREAT opportunity coming up for Fire Chiefs, Fire Officers, Human Resource Leaders, City Manager Staff, Local Government Attorneys, and or their reps to attend an excellent FIRE SERVICE BASED “train the trainer” program on the firehouse, fire department, and firefighter behavior-and BULLYING IN 2023.
