All,
We regret to pass on that a wildland Firefighter died in the Line of Duty (in the hospital) after being injured Wednesday while fighting the Austin Fire burning in the Mount Hood National Forest. Members immediately treated the injured member who was transported but succumbed to the injuries.
The National Interagency Fire Center initially announced the death of that contract Firefighter assigned to the Austin Fire, which is burning an estimated 12,873 acres and is considered 36% contained. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
Take Care. Be Careful. Pass It On.
